Description | Inscribed on negative: "Frank Stiedle." On October 15, 1937, Frank Stiedle, from Helena, Arkansas, found himself in Georgia to golf in the 36-hole semi-final bracket of the Southern States Four Ball Championship. For the next 11 years, this event would be held annually, with the exception of 1942 through 1945, when the country was at war. These photographs were taken in the East Lake No. 1 course, at the Atlanta Athletic Club, in Decatur, Georgia. |
