Abstract:Frank E’Dalgo (1912-2001) was a union organizer and leader for the AFL and the IAMAW. His papers consist of correspondence, newspaper clippings and two agreements related to his work for the International Association of Machinists.

Scope and Content of the Papers

The collection consists of correspondence, newspaper clippings and two agreements related to Frank E'Dalgo's work for the International Association of Machinists. Also included are photographs and artifacts.


Biography of Frank E'Dalgo

Frank E'Dalgo started working in Florida as an orange picker and crater during the season and return to Georgia to work on his father's farm. He graduated from High School and left home to follow migrant workers from Florida to Maine. Later, the AFL (American Federation of Labor) hired him as an organizer, where he organized the first citrus plant in Florida.

E'Dalgo then joined the IAMAW as a Grand Lodge Representative. He spent most of his time, at first, in the sugar industry. He started Local Lodge 2152 and changed Local Lodge 57 from a Federal Union to the IAMAW, and later worked with District Lodge 166, Cape Canaveral and its local lodges. On January 14, 2001, Frank E'Dalgo passed away.
