He also served as a professor of English at Kennesaw State University in Georgia.

Scope and Contents of the Papers

The Ken Anderson papers includes production notes from stage productions, theatre programs, newspaper articles, reviews, press releases, photographs, flyers and posters, 1986-2014. Of particular interest are Anderson's copies of several of his books with the author's annotations.

Biography of Ken Anderson

As a student, Ken Anderson won Louisiana State University's Caffee Medal for prose and the Louisiana College Writers First Place and Grand Prize for drama. A Professor Emeritus of English (Kennesaw State University, Georgia), he has been a consultant for a fine arts journal and a gay men's literary quarterly. His fiction and poetry have appeared in over a hundred journals and anthologies, such as Bay Windows, The Gay Review, and The James White Review. Anderson's first book was The Intense Lover: A Suite of Poems (1995). His second, the novel Someone Bought the House on the Island: A Dream Journal (1998), sold out and was a finalist in the Independent Publisher Book Awards. His third was Hasty Hearts (2000), a reprint of the novel plus a collection of ten short stories. His fourth was The Statue of Pan: Six Stories, a Novella, and a Novella-Play (2007). His play, Mattie Cushman: A Psychodrama, has been produced twice and aired on cable, and a stage version of Someone Bought the House on the Island won the Saints and Sinners Playwriting Contest. Anderson also wrote the libretto for an operatic version of Someone Bought the House on the Island, which premiered in Atlanta in 2010. He has also written a screenplay version of Someone Bought the House on the Island, as well as screenplay versions of The Statue of Pan and The Crystal Ball. His book, Sea Change: An Example of the Pleasure Principle (2012), was an Independent Publisher Editor's Choice.
