South Carolina AFL-CIO records, 1970s-1990s, include general, business, and government correspondence; business contracts; union history and organization; meeting minutes; documentation of the Job Training Partnership Act; Private Industry Council meetings; and audio and video cassettes.
Historical Note
Formed in a merger between the American Federation of Labor and the Congress of Industrial Organizations in 1955, the AFL-CIO has represented organized labor nationally and internationally. The South Carolina AFL-CIO is the regional branch of the AFL-CIO that represents all of South Carolina's AFL-CIO affiliated unions.
