Jim Malott collection of International Association of Machinists material includes Organizing Aids , a 1955 booklet with samples of organizing pamphlets, flyers, posters, and buttons; and correspondence, 1987.


Historical Note

Founded as a trade union for machinists in the railroad industry in 1888, the International Association of Machinists was a very large industrial union by the 1950s, representing workers in the aerospace and other industries. James W. (Jim) Malott served as General Vice President, Organizing Department of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, as the union was renamed in 1964.
