Consists of a videocassette recording of a
1951 episode of the television program "The Name's the Same" featuring Johhny
Scope and Content of the Collection
This collection consists of one VHS videotape of the show "The Name's
the Same" (originally aired September 3, 1951) featuring songwriter Johnny
Mercer and a young boy named Johnny Mercer. The videotape was recorded off the
air and includes commercials; it was recorded over a commercial Frank Sinatra
videotape, and the original tape continues after the TV show ends.
Joan Clarke is the daughter of Sadie Vimmerstedt, who wrote the song
"I Wanna Be Around" with Johnny Mercer in 1959. "The Name's the Same" was a
panel show on the ABC television network that ran 1951-1955. Guests shared the
name of a famous person, place, or thing, and celebrity panel members tried to
