Scope and Content of the Papers
The Jordan Collection is arranged by subject/format catagories: Manuscript materials include records relating to the Cobb County and Georgia Women's Political Caucus and ERA Georgia, Inc., as well as Jordan's Roladex cards (originals and photocopies). Artifacts include stickers and pinback buttons about women's rights, political campaigns and environmental issues. Textiles are comprised of a sweater; a sweatshirt; a skirt; and a T-shirt.
Biography of Beverly Jordan
Beverly Turner Jordan was born in Buffalo, N.Y. in 1937. She received her master's degree in architecture from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1976. She served as the administrative vice-president of ERA Georgia, Inc. from 1978 thru 1983. She then trained as a paralegal, and was with L.A. Paulk, P.C. until 1990. During her career, Jordan was also employed as an interior decorator and owned a decorating franchise. As of 1995, Jordan was retired and writing and was operations vice president for the Unitarian Universalist Metro Atlanta North.
